Cleaning up India’s cement industry

This summer, SINTEF and the Norwegian Embassy in Delhi signed an agreement with the goal of addressing with India’s problems with waste and the environment. SINTEF intends to speed up and improve the treatment of hazardous industrial waste in that country. Such waste can replace a certain proportion of the virgin raw materials and fossil fuels that are currently used in energ and resource-intensive branches of industry. Doing so will both treat industrial waste and reduce CO2 emissions. The four-year programme was launched in June.
