Fatal accidents and undertakers
For many decades, researchers and various organizations have been trying all they can to get young people to drive more carefully. The organization Trygg Trafikk, the Norwegian Public Roads Administration and SINTEF now believe they have found a way of reaching young drivers. The programme “Rett på målgruppen” (“Right on target”) has involved eleven young people with an interest in cars who attended six seminars during which they visited a trauma centre, analysed a fatal accident, drove on test tracks and observed deceased accident victims being prepared at an undertaker. Traffic researcher Dagfinn Moe believes that the project results are promising. The young people report that they have changed their driving behaviour and have become more aware of risks. The plan is to implement the programme on a larger scale in 2013.
