Breastfeeding is also good for mum

Women who breastfeed their children benefit from lower future health risks from obesity, high blood pressure, and diabetes. And the longer a woman breastfeeds, the better. These results come from an NTNU survey of 21 000 women that showed that women under 50 who breastfed their children had lower BMIs, waist circumferences, blood pressures and cholesterol levels than their non-breastfeeding counterparts.

The latter group showed an almost doubled risk of high blood pressure, more than three times the risk of obesity, and more than five times risk of diabetes.
