Help against cyber crime
Online payment systems are struggling to cope with large amounts of data over short periods of time. These systems are often slow, lack adequate security against computer attacks and struggle to run multiple processes simultaneously. Meanwhile, cyber criminals are becoming increasingly skilled at stealing identities and bank details.
NTNU researchers at Q2S, the Centre for Quantifiable Quality of Service in Communication have now developed a super-fast and secure system to verify digital identities. It is 10 000 times faster than existing systems in decoding information and 17 000 times faster in encrypting it.
