Metal-free catalysts
The project “Freecats – Doped carbon nanostructures as metal-free catalysts” has as its goal to develop carbon materials that can replace precious metals in catalysts. The EU has awarded 4 million euro to the three-year project, which will contribute to making European industries more competitive and less reliant on imports of precious metals. NTNU is responsible for coordinating Freecats, which has nine European research institutes and technology companies as participants.
